Oh, where do I start? The train noise was like a serenade of annoying clanks all night, and i would have thought for my one-night stay, a complimentary drink or something would have been offered. The absence of air conditioning was quite the scandal. I almost thought about sharing a glowing review, but just couldn't.

King room had a great bed. The location was UNBEATABLE, very close to great restaurants, train station and local attractions and all major sights in the old town of Wittenberg.
Some people working there were not very friendly.

Good value, good breakfast, good location, perfectly adequate. Let me leave my luggage while I went sightseeing (though left it in a public place - no good for valuables.)
The room was extremely hot, in spite of heating not being on and it pouring with rain outside! Had to open the window which was not designed to be left open at night and kept banging. To be fair, there was a large fan in the room, so I think they were aware of the problem, but I wanted fresh air! And a hairdryer would be good.

Extremely helpful and polite hotel staff: we arrived very late (half past midnight) and the receptionist of the small hotel was still waiting for us; the hotel is located within walking distance from the city centre; the hotel is easy to reach by car and has a large parking lot;
Due to the nearby train station, you can hear trains passing by (only with open windows).

The hotel was clean, equipped with an elevator (lift), and the breakfast was excellent. The pay per hour internet worked well in the bar/breakfast area.
The close proximity to the railway tracks made for a noisy stay. Fortunately, it was not too hot and we could close the windows. Having to go to the bar/breakfast area to use the internet was inconvenient, since we were using skype to call home to Canada and there were other guests in the room. Next time we will stay in a hotel closer to the main square.

A good morning surprise
Waking up to a plentiful breakfast spread of fresh bread and local specialties was a fantastic way to start the day. The staff was friendly.
Unfortunately, the walls were quite thin. I could hear noises from neighboring rooms, especially near the train tracks.

Good value for money = it's close to the landmarks of Wittenberg and to the train station. No complaints. And Wittenberg is worth a visit if you're interested in european history. As the center of reformation Wittenberg deserves more tourism and more renovation of it's priceless cultural buildings (e.g Schlosskirche).
